Opening a two-way bridge between our students and a respected Canadian public-school system.
On the afternoon of 25 October, a delegation led by Maggie Pearce, Director of the International Department of Canada's BC School District 42, visited Lu'an Foreign Language School of Anhui, accompanied by representatives of the Canada–China Education Association. During the visit, School District 42 and our school formally became dual-diploma friendship schools.
The guests toured the campus — the South Plaza, the gardens, the World Hall, the scenic bridge, the gymnasium, the student residences and the library — before sitting down with school leaders, who introduced the school's history, philosophy and development plans.
Ms Pearce praised the school's positioning, educational philosophy and distinctive character, describing it as "a high-quality school with a genuinely international character" and expressing a wish to work together. After a warm exchange, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement.
What the partnership covers
Under the agreement, the two schools committed to: shared and articulated curriculum projects; short- and long-term exchange and training of students and teachers; mutual academic visits; and the exchange of teaching materials, methods, information and results — making the fullest possible use of online resource-sharing.
Since opening, the school has drawn growing attention from international educators. This partnership with BC School District 42 further broadens our path in international education — widening our teachers' horizons and giving our students more opportunities to enjoy a high-quality international education, in keeping with our goal of "Chinese Roots, Global Vision."
